How to Report a Child's Absence

How to Report A Child as Absent from Daycare

This quick guide will outline how to report an absence for a child in ChildFriendly. You can this for a single day such as illness, or for a period of time, such as a vacation. The RSVP tab is used to report an absence from the center or to report an absence for school pick-up.

  1. Select the child you want to mark as absent. You can do this from the Attendance module by searching for the student in the "Signed Out Students" area.
  2. Alternatively, you can find the student in the Families module.
  3. Click the RSVP tab.
  4. Ensure you are in the Absence section at the top.
  5. Click the + (plus) icon.
  6. In the From field: Select the date the child is absent.
  7. In the To field, select the end date of the absence. If the absence is for an illness, both dates will likely be the same. If you know the child will be away for more than one day, such as for a holiday, enter the entire period here.
  8. Select the Reason for Absence drop-down menu and select the reason.
  9. Add any Notes if necessary.
  10. If this is a recurring absence, you can select the Recurring Weekly toggle.
  11. The child will now be marked as absent from the center on the day/s entered.
