Communicate: Creating a Meds (Occasional/Emergency) Journals
This guide outlines out to create a Medication journal in the Child Friendly Communicate module. Be sure to view the main Communicate Journals guide first.
Open the Child’s Profile
- Click the Communicate icon on the left hand side to access this module.
- Select the Journal tab.
- Find the child you would like to add the journal to in the list on the left-hand side. You can also search by entering the child’s name in the Search field.
- Select the child’s name and click the plus ( +) symbol to the right, beside the date. The plus sign appears once a child’s name has been selected.
Create a Meds (Emergency/Occasional) Journal
- From the journal Type drop-down menu, select Meds.
- Click the Medications drop-down to view a list of any emergency or occasional meds on file with the child. Select the medication you gave to the child.
- In the Administered by section, add your name.
- Next, add the Time of day the medication was given, and the Dosage (example: 2 puffs).
- In the description box, you must add a reason for your decision to give the medication to the child. Ensure you add any symptoms you identified.
- Once you are finished adding all details, click the Submit button. This journal will get posted right away for parents to view.
